For him\, music is its own emotional language — a way of staying connected to the pure\, hopeful\, childlike place in the heart that still knows wonder\, yearning\, love and trust. Through soft singing and gentle playing\, Yitzchok creates space for people to feel held\, connected and free: free to meet joy\, longing\, doubt\, pain\, mystery and comfort together. His music is less about performance and more about presence — letting the heart speak more loudly than the mind\, and letting a niggun carry what words alone cannot. \nYedidya Safren is a Baltimore-based singer-songwriter whose music blends Jewish spirituality\, heartfelt storytelling\, and a diverse musical palette. Raised on the melodies and teachings of Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach\, he developed a deep connection to music early in life. Carlebach’s songs and stories inspired him to pick up a guitar at sixteen\, setting him on a path that would shape both his artistic and spiritual journey. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Moshav\, Soulfarm\, the Grateful Dead\, and Pink Floyd\, he developed a sound that combines traditional Jewish soulfulness with contemporary folk\, rock\, and improvisational textures. Advance RSVP is requested below or at 410-653-7485. \nAbout the Performers\nBrothers Shlomo and Naftali Abramson are Israeli singers and musicians with deep roots in Jewish music. Both have performed and recorded independently as well as together\, bringing their own musical styles to traditional Jewish themes and melodies. \nShlomo Abramson is a singer-songwriter and chazzan whose music ranges from soulful Jewish melodies to contemporary Israeli rock and original compositions. He has released music both as a solo artist and with The Footsteps\, with credits as a vocalist\, songwriter and producer. Shlomo also has a longstanding connection with MMAE\, where Baltimore audiences have come to know him through his years serving as a High Holidays cantor. \nNaftali Abramson is a singer\, composer and guitarist whose music draws from Jewish tradition while incorporating folk\, rock and other contemporary influences. Check out previous performances from both Jack and David below: \n \n \nAbout The Artists\nThe Jack Gruber Trio\nBorn to two musicians in Washington\, D.C.’s thriving jazz scene\, Jack Gruber took up piano at the age of eight and quickly developed a passion for improvised music. He attended Paul Carr’s acclaimed Jazz Academy of Music and was selected for the sole piano chair of the Maryland All-State Jazz Band while in high school. \nGruber continued his musical education at The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music\, where he earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree\, and the Manhattan School of Music\, where he received his master’s degree. Throughout his studies\, he had the opportunity to learn from acclaimed musicians including Allyn Johnson\, Bruce Barth\, Taylor Eigsti\, Jaleel Shaw\, Reggie Workman and George Cables. \nSince completing his formal education\, Gruber has performed alongside numerous prominent artists\, including Jim Cammack (bassist for Ahmad Jamal)\, Herb Scott\, Erena Terakubo and Malik Washington. His performances have taken him to renowned venues and festivals\, including The Kennedy Center Millennium Stage\, Strathmore\, Keystone Korner\, the Mid-Atlantic Jazz Festival and the Silver Spring Jazz Festival. \nAs a bandleader\, Gruber has performed his original compositions at venues throughout the Washington\, D.C.\, and New York City areas. His music blends jazz and pop influences\, and he has written and performed in settings ranging from trios and quartets to string quartets and full orchestras. \nCurrently working toward his debut album\, Gruber believes deeply in music’s ability to connect people and remains committed to expressing his humanity through his art. \nDavid Pearl & Summon The Sparks\nDavid Pearl is a multi-instrumentalist\, composer\, educator and bandleader whose work brings together drums\, piano\, voice and improvisation. Pearl has built a wide-ranging musical identity rooted in connection\, curiosity and a desire to bring artists and traditions from different backgrounds into conversation. \nHe currently leads Summon The Sparks\, his genre-blurring musical project that reimagines ancient melodies through modern improvisation\, atmospheric textures and contemporary rhythmic language.
