About The Band

Founded in 2018 by guitarist Jeremy Reichwein, Old Head began as an informal gathering of musicians united by their love for the early music of the Grateful Dead. What started as casual jam sessions among friends gradually evolved into a dedicated group committed to exploring the band’s rich musical history.

Rather than simply recreating familiar recordings, Old Head embraces the improvisational approach that made the Grateful Dead so distinctive. Each performance offers something different, with musicians responding to one another and allowing the music to develop naturally.

Featuring talented musicians on guitar, bass, keyboards, and drums, Old Head continues to celebrate the adventurous spirit of the Dead’s formative years, keeping this timeless music alive for longtime fans and new listeners alike.
