It is natural and meaningful to be deeply concerned for Israel and for some of us, our family members and dear friends who are there.

Where do we channel these feelings?

Often we channel them into feelings of anxiety and checking the news and our social media feeds over and over.

I want to challenge us to channel all of our feelings into prayer. This means that any time we have a feeling of concern, instead of checking the news or any other behavior that doesn’t help (and it may only create more anxiety), that we turn it into a prayer.

This is probably what we should be doing with all the anxiety we experience in life.

“Hashem. We trust in you. We trust in you from the depths of our heart. We know you are the beginning and the end. It is you who is in charge. We know you love your people Israel. We know that you have eyes on The Land from beginning of year to the end. There is not a moment you sleep. There is not a moment you let your guard down. Master of the universe, bless your people with your light and protection and may our enemies fall before us like deflated balloons. Blessed are you Hashem who protects his people Israel forever”.
